Pre-Wedding Photoshoot in London

For many South Asian couples the pre-wedding shoot is not an optional extra - it is an established part of the wedding, and often the images the largest number of people will see. They appear on invitations, on welcome boards at the venue, on the screens during the reception, and across the family group chats long before the day arrives.

Practically, that means planning for more than one look. A session built around two or three outfits needs time for changing, for jewellery, and for the way heavier fabric moves and sits - which is why the longer packages exist rather than being an upsell. Three hours is a comfortable amount of time for three looks without any of them feeling rushed.

We photograph these sessions the same way we photograph any couple: with direction throughout, so neither of you is left guessing what to do with your hands. If family are joining for part of it, tell us when we plan and we will build the running order around them.

It starts with a conversation. We agree what the images are for, how many looks you want, and where you would like to be photographed - a hire studio in Hackney Central, somewhere in London that means something to you, or your own home if you would rather be somewhere familiar. On the day we direct throughout. Almost nobody arrives knowing how to stand next to the person they are marrying while a stranger points a camera at them, and nobody is expected to. We work in short, focused runs, and we show you frames as we go so you can see it working.

Afterwards you receive a private online gallery within two to four days to choose your favourites. Your hand-edited, high-resolution photographs follow within two to four weeks of that selection, with full rights to print and share them.

Tower Bridge and the South Bank

The classic. Photographed from the north bank at sunrise you get the bridge, the river and empty pavements; by mid-morning the crowds arrive. Pair it with a walk along the South Bank for the skyline, and wear something with colour - the stone and the water are grey.

St Paul’s and the City

St Paul’s from the Millennium Bridge, then the narrow streets, arcades and courtyards around it - quiet at weekends, when the City empties out. Great for sharp tailoring and a formal look.

Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill

Formal gardens, the rose garden in June and long avenues of trees, then a ten-minute walk up Primrose Hill for the skyline at golden hour. Two very different backdrops in one session, and the most requested pairing for South Asian pre-wedding shoots with more than one outfit.

Notting Hill and Kensington Gardens

Pastel terraces and mews streets for a relaxed, editorial feel, with Kensington Gardens and the Italian Gardens a short walk away for greenery and water. Best on a weekday morning.

Westminster, Big Ben and the London Eye

The postcard: Westminster Bridge with Big Ben behind you, the London Eye across the water, and soft river light early in the morning. Go early - it is the busiest spot in the city by ten.

Greenwich Park and the river

The view from the Observatory over the Queen’s House to Canary Wharf, then the colonnades and the riverside path. Quieter than the centre, and beautiful in autumn.

Belgravia and Mayfair mews

White stucco, cobbles and painted doors - the quiet, polished corners of central London that photograph like a film set. Ideal for a second, dressier look.

A hire studio in Hackney Central

When you have three outfits, heavy fabric and jewellery, a studio is the easiest place to change and the only one where the light never moves. Controlled, private and weatherproof - many couples do one look here and the rest outdoors.

The best time for a pre-wedding shoot in London

The first hour after sunrise and the last before sunset, on a weekday if you can. Spring blossom in April, the rose gardens in June, autumn colour in October and the Christmas lights from late November each change the city; overcast days are kinder than bright sun, and we hold a back-up date for rain.
