Why outdoors
Why choose an outdoor session
London light, read properly
An overcast sky gives soft, even light; golden hour brings warmth and glow. We use whatever the day offers to flatter you and the landscape.
Locations we know well
We’ve scouted London’s major parks, gardens and waterfronts - where the best light falls, where crowds thin, and where the most elegant backdrops sit.
Flexible scheduling
Outdoor sessions are loveliest from March to October, but we work year-round, adapting to the season and your pregnancy timeline.
Simple & calm
How your outdoor session works
Location consultation
We talk through the London settings you’re drawn to, your style and any ideas you have, then plan timing around the season and your pregnancy - usually around 32–36 weeks. We also agree a weather backup date, so rain never causes any stress.
The outdoor session
Your session typically lasts about an hour. We guide you to the best light and framing - no need to know how to pose - and keep things gentle, with short walks, natural movement and quiet pauses to rest. Your partner and children are welcome to join.
Selection & delivery
You’ll receive a private proofing gallery within two to four days to choose your favourites; your hand-edited, high-resolution images then follow within two to four weeks of your selection. Optional prints, wall art and albums can be arranged afterwards.

What we capture
Our outdoor maternity sessions
Iconic London landmarks
Tower Bridge, the London Eye or Westminster as your backdrop, scheduled early or late to keep things calm and crowd-free - unmistakably London portraits.
Parks & gardens
Royal Parks, Victoria Park, Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park’s open meadows - natural, seasonal settings with beautiful tree-lined light.
Riverside & waterfront
Thames-side locations with reflective water and open skies, at their best in golden hour for an intimate, almost cinematic feel.
Where we shoot
Best London locations for outdoor sessions
The right setting shapes the whole session. A few of our favourites across the city:
Primrose Hill - open hilltop lawns and city skyline views, lovely at golden hour. Alexandra Palace - hilltop paths and panoramic skyline views, lovely in autumn colour or spring meadows. Kensington Gardens - formal gardens and elegant tree-lined walks, especially in late spring and summer.
Greenwich Park - sweeping views across the Thames to Canary Wharf, ideal at sunrise. Regent’s Park - rose gardens and structured planting for variety in a single location. Crystal Palace - secluded, romantic garden paths, quieter than the central parks.
Spring blossom (April–May) and autumn colour (September–October) are the most visually rich seasons, while summer offers long golden-hour evenings. Some Royal Parks and City gardens require a photography permit for professional sessions - we’ll flag this and help you plan around it.
We cover all of Greater London, so if you have a meaningful setting in mind - a local park near your home or somewhere with personal significance - we’ll make it work. Prefer a calm, classic studio instead? See our studio sessions.

Outdoor maternity FAQ
What happens if the weather is bad on the day?
London weather is unpredictable, so every booking includes a free reschedule. If heavy rain or extreme conditions are forecast, we simply move to the backup date we agreed at your consultation - you’ll never be pressured to shoot in conditions that feel uncomfortable.
How early should we book?
We recommend booking in your second trimester to secure your preferred week and location. The ideal window is around 32–36 weeks, so working back from there gives us time to plan and scout.
What should we wear?
Soft, flowing fabrics such as chiffon or cotton move beautifully in a breeze. Muted pastels, earth tones and neutral colours sit well against greenery, while bold patterns tend to compete with the landscape. Bring one or two outfits and comfortable flat shoes, plus a light layer in case the temperature shifts. We’re always happy to talk through styling beforehand.
