Newborn Studio Photography in London

Yes - every Opus Lumière session of two hours or more includes The Growing Gallery, a private, password-protected 3D gallery of your finished photographs that you walk through and share with family. It is free for two years and gains a floor with every shoot. One-hour and 1.5-hour sessions don’t include it.

We recommend booking during pregnancy - ideally your second or third trimester - and reserving a flexible window around your due date. The loveliest, sleepiest images come at about 5 to 14 days old.

Keep it simple - bring plenty of feeding supplies, nappies, a dummy if your baby uses one, and any heirloom blanket, soft toy or outfit you’d like included. For parent and sibling portraits, soft, neutral tones photograph beautifully.

Safety comes first, always. Your baby’s head is supported and airway clear in every pose, with a parent within arm’s reach. Any shot that looks “unsupported” is created with composite editing - multiple frames with your baby fully held.

Of course - parents, older siblings and grandparents are all welcome. We always make time for gentle family portraits alongside your baby.

Prices vary widely across the UK, so we can only speak for our own: a studio newborn session starts at £295 for 1.5 hours and 30 hand-edited photographs, most families book two to three hours (£395–£495), and at-home sessions start at £395. No. The deeply sleepy, curled poses are easiest between 5 and 14 days, but a three-week-old still photographs beautifully - more awake, more expressive, and often with better eye contact. We simply slow the newborn photography session down and pace it around feeds.
